If you thought the Democratic party could not possibly devolve further into trainwreck mode this summer, that would be due to a failure of imagination on your part. According to Secret Service Acting Director Ronald Rowe, a failure of imagination is what almost got Trump killed.
This was a failure of imagination. A failure to imagine that we actually do live in a very dangerous world where people do actually want to do harm to our protectees.
Zero imagination was required to perceive obvious threats present at Butler. The Secret Service exists because of individuals who “actually want to do harm to our'' leaders. It requires little imagination to conclude Rowe’s career is rapidly approaching its conclusion.
The world’s oldest political party, a party founded to preserve slavery and promote eviction of Native Americans, begins its 2024 convention in Chicago on August 19. For months, the city has been jerking around groups applying for permits to stage protests. Chicago is reprising the 1968 movie when protest permits were denied radical groups. The number of groups planning to protest appear to be increasing exponentially. Only a tiny fraction on the list will have received permits by the time the DNC convention convenes. They, and others yet unknown, are likely to appear regardless.
The Chicago local governance structure is an accident waiting to happen. On one side is Governor Pritzker, worth $3.5 billion and controlling the state police and National Guard. On the other is the nation’s most radical mayor, Brandon Johnson. Caught in the middle is the Chicago Police Department, missing about 2,000 officers thanks to defunding and other issues which have vexed big city police lately. Pritzker is on the party’s dinosaur fringe, a moderate. A Jew, he is strongly pro-Israel. The marxist Johnson is an enthusiastic Hamas supporter and enthusiastic advocate of protesters. Let’s go Brandon!
MarchOnDNC2024.org is the umbrella entity organizing the protests. The principal focus will be opposing Israel’s Gaza operation and American funding for Israel. March organizers have been at loggerheads with the city for several months over granting permits and the route for the march. A federal court ruling is imminent. Over 50,000 protesters and perhaps 200 groups are anticipated.

Of the 140 organizations, many - if not most - exist primarily to support Hamas. Two are queer organizations, one is explicitly feminist, which is oxymoronic.
Andy Ngo is the preeminent anthropologist of violent riots, in America and the UK. Crowd behavior is dramatically different from individual behavior. The list of Chicago protest groups above is merely an inventory of those willing to adhere to the rules. Their individual members may not behave well once introduced into a crowd environment. Far more important, the above list excludes the rule breakers, including Antifa and various Hamas supporters who have recently turned violent. It is not a question of if, but how much funding from China, Iran, Qatar, etc. is underwriting the Chicago protests. When foreign terrorists praise our domestic terrorists, their funding is sure to follow.
The potential for a repeat of 1968 would appear high. Another consideration is that it has been four long years since the 2020 Summer of Love’s mostly peaceful protests. Protesters are probably itching for a fight. Due to the infectious nature of crowd behavior, when a handful start violence, they are likely to attract additional supporters.
The larger question is what has been driving (and funding) the wave of Hamas protests currently roiling the nation. This is not 1968 when hundreds of thousands of domestic males above age 18 were subject to the draft. How much of this is part of a strategic coordination with the October 7 attack and the coordinated Houthi and Hez b’allah attacks? Decades of campus indoctrination have produced an army of useful idiots doing the bidding of foreign actors. Those indoctrinated to believe a modern genocide is taking place may act outwhen given the opportunity to imagine they are standing athwart history. Many of the Facebook and Instagram pages of the groups linked above list thousands of followers.
Monitor Tony Seruga’s Twitter feed after the DNC convention concludes. The DNC convention will be geofenced and all phones within the area will be matched with their previous history. Undoubtedly, professional instigators who roam the country, especially Antifa actors and teachers on summer break, will turn out to have been present. This post explains it all. Many Antifa actors are now Hamas retreads, still getting paid to sow chaos.
On the positive side, there’s a new cop coming to Chicago who won’t tolerate any dissent.
Kamala’s campaign is actively hiring for numerous positions. Which means organizations such as O’Keefe Media Group and Project Veritas will be infiltrating the campaign. Stay tuned.
Some things never change. This August marks the 50th anniversary of Nixon’s forced resignation. It appears Democrats are closing in on forcing Biden to step aside to elevate Kamala to the presidency. If anyone possesses closets full of blackmail material, it’s Biden. Having already forced Biden out of his reelection campaign, he is of no more use to the party. Kamala could greatly benefit from the gravitas she would acquire as the 47th president. It becomes difficult to conceive of Biden being allowed to remain in office for very many more weeks.
In a long continuum, we have gone from a staunch anti-communist being forced aside in 1974, to the logical conclusion of a marxist usurping office from her predecessor. The historical arc is now complete. On a two-century timescale, Democrats have gone from evicting Native Americans from their homelands, to supporting From the River to the Sea, the bloody effort to cleanse Jews from their ancient motherland. Today’s Democrats are thinking far bigger than those of the Jacksonian era. From 100,000 Indians they have expanded their horizons to 7 million Jews. It comes as no surprise that Chicago is giving the Israeli American Council (IAC) the royal runaround in its effort to obtain a permit to protest during the DNC convention.
Hitler and Marx are thus now both vindicated. In the American heartland of all places. The only thing Marx ever got right was his contention that history repeats, first as tragedy, then farce. The 1968 DNC Chicago convention riots left 11 dead and another 48 wounded from police bullets during seven days of chaos. Another 2,150 were arrested. Today, now that Chicago is the national murder capital, the 1968 death count is no big deal. As Trump points out, over this year’s Fourth of July weekend, 117 shootings and 17 deaths were added to this year’s statistics. Today, thanks to kindler, gentler policing, nobody is likely to be shot by police. Although the death toll from civilian shootings may spike when police are withdrawn from regular patrols to deal with protestors.
Democrats were in rough shape when they left Chicago in 1968. How much the riotscontributed to Nixon’s victory that year is unknown, but it likely played a major role. Most of the nation was appalled. In a three-way race the Democrat won a mere 13 states and 191 electoral votes to Nixon’s 32 states and 301 electoral votes. If the Left excels at one thing, it is self-destructing.

While we are examining Chicago crime statistics, the graph below, which is only updated through 2011, illustrates the changing nature of Chicago murders. We can clearly see the impact of gang violence and drive-by shootings. It is likely that as the percentage of foreign-born criminals increases, outdoor shootings increase proportionally. The reason this graph has not been kept updated is probably because it reveals too much.
