RNC R.I.P.
August 26, 2023
BORN: March 20, 1854, Ripon, WI
DIED: August 23, 2023, Milwaukee, WI
Age: 169
We are gathered here today in memory of our dearly departed Republican Party. Born with a mission to end slavery, the party met with early success. She languished during middle age, with the New Deal and loss of Congress for decades. She enjoyed a burst of energy later in life, under Reagan. Then Gingrich engineered a GOP House takeover in 1994, a bright spot in between the damage done to the senescent RNC by the Bushes. By the time Trump arrived, she was almost in a coma and ready for Weekend at Bernie’s. But the old girl held on in an extended care facility, and it was not until August 23, 2023 that the party finally breathed its last, succumbing to a chronic and debilitating illness after the family asked that her life support be removed.
The deceased leaves behind two daughters: Ronna Romney McDaniel of Michigan and Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, spouse of war hero Richard Blumenthal. She was predeceased by her late brother, Mitch McConnell. Her daughter Ronna had obtained a conservatorship over her mother in 2017, after which the party experienced a net loss of 7 governorships, 3 Senate seats, 19 House seats, and the presidency. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Ron DeSantis for President. Trump & Sons Funeral Home is in charge of burial arrangements. A closed casket memorial service will be held at a future date to be announced.
Stick a fork in it, the RNC is DOA. This ossified, corrupt remnant from a bygone era now exists for one purpose: to deny Donald Trump the nomination. This status became clear with the denial of Larry Elder’s participation in the August 23 presidential debate, even though he met the fundraising and polling criteria.
I said from the beginning that it appeared the rules of the game were rigged, little did we know just how rigged it is. For some reason, the establishment leaders at the RNC are afraid of having my voice on the debate stage. Just as I had to fight to successfully be on the ballot in the California recall election, I will fight to be on that debate stage because I fully met all of the requirements to do so.
If you thought it would be impossible for the RNC to find a worse chair than Michael Steele, think again. Ronna Romney McDaniel obtained her position due to nepotism. That apple did not fall far from the family tree. It is not just McDaniel, but the entire RNC which is hostile to conservative and MAGA values.
Elder is by far the most conservative/libertarian candidate running, more so than Trump — the only other GOP candidate not beholden to the elites. Don’t let Ramaswamy fool you. He is a fast-talking globalist scam artist registered as an independent. Elder is a skilled debater, having enjoyed a long career as a nationally syndicated radio talk show host. But there is another, overriding reason the GOP is terrified of having Elder on the debate stage: he is a proven voter getter.
In the 2021 recall election for California Governor Gavin Newsom, Elder finished first with 3,563,867 votes, 48.4% of the total, in a crowded field of 53 candidates. (Second place went to Kevin Pharaff with 706,778 votes, 9.6%.) If the recall motion had passed, Elder would be California’s governor today. The lugubrious RNC still has a bad taste in its mouth from an actual conservative California governor who went on to win the presidency four decades ago. A party estranged from its base can not long endure.
Let’s review: Elder is a Black conservative, a fearsome debater after having spent decades as a radio talk show host syndicated nationwide to over 300 stations, TV host, syndicated columnist, and voting booth gold — in the bluest state in the country, yet the RNC, rather than welcoming him with open arms, bent the rules to deny him the opportunity to confront their loser lineup.
As Elder points out, several candidates allowed into the debate have conducted questionable fundraising practices, particularly billionaire North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum (who?), who promised $20 gift cards in exchange for $1 donations. There is a high probability this runs afoul of federal campaign finance statutes. If so, he’ll pay a fine, no big deal. Burgum wants North Dakota to become carbon-neutral by 2030. Need to know any more? But Elder, who obtained many more donors than the RNC required, is banned from the debate. As of late June, Burgum spent far more on ads than any other presidential campaign or outside group. During the debate it became clear why he needed to spend so much. Elder has spent very little.
See where this is going? The RNC is glad to accommodate the sugar daddy splashing money around, some (much?) of which will go to their families and friends. Trump joins Elder in keeping them at arm's length financially, having no need for their support and not wishing to subsidize RNC graft. The question is perhaps not if, but how many greased their way on to the debate stage?
Why would the RNC deny Elder entry to the debate?
They already have their token Black candiate in Tim Scott, the globalists’ darling.
Elder is an actual conservative.
Elder might be on Trump’s VP short list. If selected, this would create the first presidential ticket with both members having stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Elder is not beholden to the elites, unlike the eight candidates allowed to debate.
Elder would demolish their loser candidates.
The RNC does not want concervatives/MAGA types. They only want those who will serve the elites. Mitt Romney never recovered from the beating Trump inflicted in 2016, having gone a little funny in the head ever since. His chronic TDS has now infected the entire RNC, which was glad to pretend they liked Trump and the funds he attracted. Now, they are willing to commit seppuku (hari-kari) to block another Trump administration, or anyone remotely similar to Trump, including Elder.
Part of the explanation for despising Trump may be defensive: he would be unlikely to play as nice with RNC hacks in his second term as in his first. Far more powerful on the grassroots level today than the first time around, in a second term he would likely appoint his own RNC chair and clean house. [If there is one word elites can’t stomach, it is grassroots. They demand to be in control.] Gone would be McDaniel's $500,000 in private jet expenses, $64,000 at clothing retailers, and $321,000 in floral arrangements, in 2021-22 alone. From 2017 to 2022 the RNC spent $3.1 million on private jet services, $1.3 million on limousine/chauffeur services, $17.1 million on donor mementos, $750,000 on floral arrangements, $75,000 on beauty and spa services, and $80,000 on alcohol. Teenagers would be more responsible with credit cards. This sort of extravagance is the antithesis of the MAGA base’s values. Is it even necessary to point out the RNC was MIA during the dispute over the 2020 vote fraud? The RNC has a greater affinity toward the DNC than the MAGA movement. If those millions had instead been invested in a voter registration initiative, it would make too much sense because non-registered voters are Trump +20. The RNC obviously has other objectives than winning.
Don’t underestimate the benefits which will accrue to Elder from being denied entry. This only increases the chances Trump might select him for a running mate. Or at least appoint Elder to a high-level position in his administration. 3.5 million California votes can not be ignored. Elder could bring a lot to any ticket he is on. By litigating against the RNC, Elder will cement his reputation as an outsider opposing the corrupt GOP establishment. If the RNC thinks it has heard the last from Elder, it will soon learn otherwise. This is not the case of a Bernie Sanders willing to be paid off and leave quietly for accepting his fate in another rigged primary. As Washington — along with many others of his era — feared, a partisan party system would destroy the nation. They were right.
In addition to his planned lawsuit, Elder has filed an FEC complaint against the RNC. Not only did the RCN ban Elder from the debate, they also made sure to ban his campaign staff. Potential FEC sanctions could total more than $100 million. It appears Elder’s strategy has been to begin in a low-key manner, gain notoriety in the first debates, then attract funding and support. He did it in California, and there is every reason to anticipate he could do it again. He could use the debate platform to audition for the vice presidential position.
What is not yet appreciated is Trump’s historical destiny. He is tasked with not only vanquish the Deep State, but must also implode the hollow shells of both political parties. While the imminent demise of the Democrats has long been apparent, the GOP’s collapse now appears to be rapidly approaching. Denial of Elder only confirms this. The GOP needs to look in its rearview mirror and be alert to a past president bearing down upon them with increasing speed.
Objects in the rearview mirror are closer than they appear. For many reasons, not the least of which is because non-registered voters are Trump +20. But the RNC does not want to aid the Trump wing of the party by registering such voters. Winning the presidency (and therefore many down-ticket positions) is clearly not their objective. One big clue was the over quarter billion (and climbing) views of Tucker's August 23 Trump interview on Twitter, dwarfing the Apollo 11 lunar landing or Super Bowls, it is now the most watched TV episode in history. Meanwhile, the GOP remains frozen in time, a time long ago in a previous century.
The great irony is that the party founded to end slavery should eventually self-destruct while denying a Black man his opportunity. While the Democrats, the party based on exploiting Blacks, surreptitiously continued to do so — including going so far as to intall a Black president and vice president to conceal their motives. Both parties are now ready for history’s ash heap as Trump forges a new national consensus.
Washington’s fears that partisan parties would soon doom the Republic, and Lincoln’s premonition, have now been realized. Both would be amazed by how long it took.
The Money power preys upon the nation in times of peace and conspires against it in times of adversity. It is more despotic than monarchy, more insolent than autocracy, more selfish than bureaucracy. It denounces as public enemies all who question its methods or throw light upon its crimes. As a result of the war, corporations have been enthroned, an era of corruption in high places will follow, and the money powers of the country will endeavor to prolong its reign by working upon the prejudices of the people until all wealth is aggregated in a few hands and the Republic is destroyed. —Lincoln
October 24, 2023 update:
Now that the wheels are coming off the global order bus, ever more recovering liberals are flocking to the Trump camp. Trump was underappreciated druing his first term, but now that the Obama/Biden regency has spawned chaos at home and abroad, a longing has emerged for the stability he provided. As more become convinced of the likelihood of domestic terror attacks in the near future, Biden serves as the poster child for everything the MAGA movement stands opposed to.
Meanwhile, back at the GOP, Trump underscored the growing dimensions of his base when he turned thumbs down on Tom Emmer’s bid to be the House Speaker. Trump’s hostile takeover of the party continues to gather momentum. The RINO class is slowly absorbing the lesson that if they wish to retain a career, they need to heed the tsunami of constituent phone calls which flooded Congress during the Speaker fight.
To be continued . . .
